Walt Disney World Resort has officially announced that Fantasia Gardens and Fairways Miniature Golf, one of its recreational areas, will be temporarily closed for refurbishment from September 9 to October 24, 2025. Central Florida Disney Park guests will still be able to tee off–with some restrictions.
Fantasia Gardens and Fairways Miniature Golf has been a fixture at the Walt Disney World Swan Hotel since it opened in 1996, offering two unique courses. The Fantasia Gardens course, inspired by Walt Disney Animation Studios’ Fantasia (1940), features five scenes inspired by recognizable characters like the dancing hippos and Mickey Mouse’s marching broomsticks. Meanwhile, Fantasia Fairways offers a more traditional miniature golf experience, with sand traps, water hazards, and sloping greens.
The upcoming closure will affect Fantasia Fairways, which will be completely unavailable during the refurbishment. Fantasia Gardens will remain open, though there will be some changes to its operation. During the closure, Fantasia Gardens will be available on a first-come, first-served basis, and guests will not be able to reserve tee times.
From September 9 to September 23, 2025, Fantasia Gardens will also have adjusted hours, opening at noon instead of the usual 10:00 a.m. After September 24, regular hours will resume.
The Fantasia Fairways course is expected to reopen on October 25, 2025. Walt Disney World Resort has not disclosed what specific updates or changes are being made during the refurbishment. Disney’s Winter Summerland Miniature Golf will remain open during the refurbishment at Fantasia Gardens and Fairways Miniature Golf.
Guests who have planned trips to Walt Disney World Resort this fall should double-check their itineraries and adjust their plans accordingly. With the refurbishment expected to wrap up by late October, Central Florida Disney Park guests will soon be able to enjoy the classic mini-golf experience once again.
