Disneyland has officially confirmed the removal of its live Spider-Man performers from the park. This change was communicated to the performers, with the last show set for November 17. The iconic Spider-Man character had been a fixture at the Marvel-themed Avengers Campus, providing guests with thrilling displays of acrobatics and superhero antics.
Over the years, Spider-Man’s performances have evolved, becoming a beloved highlight for many visitors. Guests had enjoyed witnessing amazing stunts, including wall-crawling feats and impressive flips, all while engaging with a live actor embodying the superhero.
However, as part of Disneyland’s ongoing entertainment transitions, this particular live performance has come to an end, joining other shows that have faced cuts recently.
In response to the change, Disneyland has established a new schedule for the “The Amazing Spider-Man” rooftop show, now expected to take place about a dozen times daily. The performances will be held at the top of the hour and on the half-hour, between 10:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. This new structure provides guests with more opportunities to experience the excitement of Spider-Man in action, potentially making it more accessible than the previous live shows.
Replacing the original rooftop stunts, the new show format accommodates daily visitors with regular performances. This frequency fills the gap left by the live performers, ensuring that the excitement and thrill of Spider-Man’s adventures remain a part of the Disneyland experience.

With any significant change, reactions tend to be mixed. Some guests have expressed disappointment over the removal of live performers, as many enjoyed the spontaneity and personal interaction that a human actor can provide.
However, many visitors and fans of Spider-Man are looking forward to the introductions of the animatronic. The expected benefits, including a more polished and technically advanced show, raise hopes for an enriched experience in the Avengers Campus. The animatronic’s ability to perform more frequently may enhance the flow of the show and keep audiences entertained with more opportunities to see Spider-Man in action.
This transition reflects a broader trend within Disneyland’s entertainment offerings, as the park adapts to new technologies and guest preferences. With several live shows being adjusted or cut altogether, Disneyland is reshaping its entertainment landscape, moving towards a future that emphasizes innovation while prioritizing guest experiences.
